Fitzpatrick, Rev. Robert J. The Reverend Robert J. Fitzpatrick, 87, of St. Bede Catholic Church, Ingleside, was born into eternal life Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Born December 31, 1927, in Chicago to Bernard and Margaret (nee Kelly), he was ordained into the priesthood, May 5, 1954, and served the following churches: St. Cletus LaGrange, Immaculate Conception Waukegan, St. Therese Hospital Waukegan, St. Bede Ingleside, and St. Joseph Round Lake and Waukegan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bernard E. (Rita, nee Kerwin) Fitzpatrick. Survived by nephews, Robert (Gloria), Mark (Peggy), Michael (Colette), and William Fitzpatrick; niece, Nancy (Terenzio) Sabatini; 13 great-nieces and nephews; 13 great-great nieces and nephews; and many, many beloved friends. Visitation Friday, November 27, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of wake service at 7:30 p.m., at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 28, at St. Bede. Interment St. Bede Cemetery, Ingleside. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Bede School, 36399 N. Father Fitzpatrick was a priest at the Immaculate Conception church in Waukegan, IL., during the time in the 60's where the children of my late parents, Bernard and Mary Boyer and family were members of the church there and us four children attended the school there. Father was very special to us and he has always been there in our memories of good memories.

Father Fitz was quite a Pied Piper for our St. Cletus class of 1964, 8 or 9 of us went to Quigley South.
I have gotten a lot of mileage from the story of the Sunday afternoon that he took a bunch of us to White Castle & we polished off 100 sliders! Seriously though, he was a tremendous influence on my faith and I am grateful for having known such a devout and charming man. Maybe with him up in heaven the White Sox will be able to turn things around! God bless you Father Fitz.
