Robert Feinstein Obituary

Feinstein, Dr. Robert N. age 90, died September 23, 2005, in Downers Grove, IL. He was a bio-chemist at Argonne National Laboratory outside of Chicago. Dr. Feinstein also published three books of short verse and over 700 poems. He received his degrees from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Feinstein served overseas for 3½ years during WWII. He is survived by his dear wife, Betty of 64 years, his daughters, Ann Levis and Jean Feinstein-Lyon, his two sons-in-law, William Levis and Stanley Lyon and his grandsons, Jonathan Levis and Benjamin Feinstein-Lyon. A Memorial Service will be held at the Doubletree Hotel, 1909 Spring Rd., Oakbrook, IL, at 11:30 a.m., on November 4, 2005. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI, on November 6, 2005. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any donations in memory of Dr. Feinstein be made to Glaucoma Research Foundation, 251 Post St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA, 94108, 1-800-826-6693 or online at www.glaucoma.org

We met in the hallways of Herrick Junior High School many years ago. The Feinstein Family served as an example for all...love, energy, and commitment to excellence. I have fond memories. John A. Johnson, Herrick principal,retired.

Our family sends our prayers and best wishes. Dr. Feinstein was such a good friend to my parents and to our whole family. His kindness, gentleness and sense of humor will be missed. He was a true gentleman.
