Papa,
We love and miss you so much! It has almost been a year and so many things have happened. We wish you could have seen your new grandson Mick. He was born on 3/19 right around St. Patricks day like his brother. He was due on 4/12 but he couldn't wait. He looks just like Tony. He is still in the NICU but when we visit we tell him about you everytime. We promise we will continue to share our wonderful memories of you with him. We want him to know how happy and proud of Tony you would be. Tony is a wonderful father, husband and friend and I am so lucky to have him in my life. Thank you for giving me such an amazing gift.

GOD IT’s QUIET IN HERE
The signature trademark that made everyone aware that Pappa C was in the room.
There would be no awkward silence when he was around.
He would explode with that authoritative voice, I would usually wet myself, and the chit chat would resume.
He cherished the conversations and banter that was all around him when the Cassidy’s got together.
Cassidy gatherings range in size from 6-200 and vary from occasion to occasion.
Weddings, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Birthdays, the normal celebrations you would see in most families,
There are also important gatherings for golf outings, Sox games, card games, Season premier of DWS, Finale of “iDOL” and last but not least, the day of the week that ends in “Y”
The point I’m trying to make is the type of family unity that Bob and all of his brothers and sisters practiced and preached was the catalyst for these gatherings. Pappa ‘C’ is a main component and one of the pillars that supported and elevated that family structure.
That foundation, has a slight crack in it now, but what I have witnessed over the years is this families impeccable ability to rally around each other to continue the support of the family structure. So that crack doesn’t impede this families ability to function as Bob intended it to.
Bob was so proud of his family and the traditions they followed over the years.
He earned titles like, Son, Brother, Friend, Devoted Husband, Dad, Coach, Uncle, Father in law, Pappa, and Great Grandfather; amongst many others that, fueled and supported that Pride. His great grandson really gets ripped off, because he won’t get the chance to see first hand, what Pappa ‘C’ brought to the table.
Bob has been able to put together a pretty impressive life’s resume, it was very easy to see where this pride came from.
He had a “Take me as I am” attitude that was envious to everyone. You don’t like what you see in front of you, OH WELL, This is who I am!!!!! From what I can tell, he had few regrets, which means he lived life to the fullest. And it was done his way.
I personally have one regret, I never took the time to thank him for allowing me to participate, and reap the benefits of all his hard work and accomplishments.
So for that DAD, I thank You, I love you, and you will be missed, but never forgotten.

Mr. Cassidy, Your wisdom will serve you as well in heaven as it has on earth....
Be a gentleman, let those angels make the first move and more than a handful is a waste. Thanks, Paul
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
