Dear "LoLo" and family:
Some time ago,I ran into Bob in the waiting room at Skokie hospital. We talked about the good times and fun we all had at the parties we went to from work. He told me about what he had been going through with his health and now I read that he passed away.
Lo-Lo, I am so sorry for your loss, Bob was a good man, father, husband and a lot of fun to party with!
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the girls. May each day get a little easier to handle for all of you.
Take care,
Helene Lieber ("Leenie")

Please know my thoughts are with you. (I just found out Monday @ 1p.m.) You don't know me, but Bob was my boss at the Beacon News for several years. We had a VERY good working relationship. Dear Lois and Family, We were so blessed to know Bob for all the years, from our joint family outings at Santa’s Village, the Chicago Tribune picnics when our kids were the ages of our now grandchildren.

Over the decades that I have worked with Bob, either side by side at the Chicago Tribune, driving back and forth from our homes in Des Plaines, or all the Union activities from Bob’s days as Union organizer, Chicago Tribune Chapel Chairman and 1985 Tribune Strike Coordinator, he just gave and gave of himself to improve and better peoples working lives.

And as faith would have it Bob ended up on the other side of the table representing management at the Courier News and most recently at the Aurora Beacon-News. With newspapers failing and mass layoff, Bob’s concern was finding new ways to get the work done and still maintain jobs for the people he respected and cared for. I have never met a man that cared about people and their welfare as Bob did and always talked about the love and joy for his family.

We have experienced a great loss, and we will miss a very, very good friend.

Love, Molly & Steve Berman

Dear Lois, Lisa, Holly and families:
I was saddened to learn of Bob's death. He was a nice guy, and the few times I was able to chat with him were memorable. He will be missed. I hope that you will be able to derive comfort from your memories of your very special husband and father.

I will miss Bob tremendously! He was not only a friend but he was a mentor at work. He encouraged me to push my limits and exceed where I thought I would fail. I enjoyed his wit and enjoyed teasing him back! My husband plowed snow in the winter and Bob would always tease me about using the little red wagon with a snow shovel attached to clear the road for him.
Lois - you and your family will be in my prayers and thoughts. I have been on the grief journey for 3 months now - my husband passed in December. Remember you have family and friends to support you.
God bless you-
