My wife, Judy, and I, are very much saddened to learn of the loss of Deacon Robert Boharik. We had the honor of being under the tutelage of Bob and his lovely wife, Kate, for three years while we we in the diaconate formation program in the Archdiocese of Chicago. He and Kate gave of themselves so selflessly, opening their home and their lives to us (and to three other couples in the formation program) on a weekly basis for three years during that time! I was always in awe of Bob and loved just being in his presence! He was truly a man of God and a man of faith. Our faith is the way we live our lives, and if every there was a person who gave testimony to this, it was Bob Boharik! Bob was a strong man of deep conviction who was not afraid to speak his mind, always doing so with thought given to the feelings of others. Bob was as dependable and as reliable as sunrise. These qualities were recognized in the Catholic Church, and led Bob to be a leader and an administrator in several parishes in the Chicago Archdiocese. I can only aspire to serve as a deacon and follow his example. Bob has stood before Our Lord. It is my hope for Bob (and for all of us!) that at that event Our Lord will not only look at his weaknesses, but will also recognize his (many) strenghts. Bob's strengths can easily be recognized in terms of his faith, his family, and his friends. Knowing Bob, I can say that, to him, the most important part of his life was the salvation of his soul. This strength of heart permeated to all areas of his life - to his faith, to his family, to his friends, and to all who came to know him. Bob has stood before Our Lord. I can only imagine this meeting, when Our Lord recognized Bob's strength of heart, and can imagine Our Lord's response, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. ... Come and share your master's happiness!" (Matt25:21) Eternal rest grant unto Bob, O Lord, and let perptual light shine upon him! Deacon Tom Christensen, Seminole, Florida.

My name is Ed Hagerty. Many years ago, I was in his court room for a civil trial. I will never forget him. He was fair, smart, and respectful. I left the courtroom deeply impressed with him as a jurist and man. May he rest in peace.

Father Tom and family, we extend our sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved father. He led an amazing and fulfilling life and who now has begun his next journey into eternal life. Your dad left you with the most valuable gift a father can bestow upon his family. A lifetime of memories and his footprints in your hearts. RIP Robert Boharic.

I'm very sad for the family. Bob was the Chicago cousin my brother and I knew best and was a frequent, fun playmate when our families got together. My dad was the brother of Bob's adoptive mother, Marie.
Even as a child, Bob had a strong moral compass. He did the family proud by serving as a Marine, a judge, and a deacon.
