I wanted to share how special Mr. Bobins meant to me: he was my 7th and 8th grade teacher. What a joy to have an inspirational teacher, person, mentor. He always pushed each of his students to the limits in the classroom. He broadened our horizons with literature: "The Counte of Monte Cristo", "Voltaire", "20,000 leagues under the sea", etc. He would quiz us in history, the passion he had when teaching was remarkable. He will not be forgotten. Rest in Peace Mr. Bobins!

To the Bobins family,
Today I came home to find out that the most EXTRAORDINARY teacher I have met has passed. I was extremely fortunate to have him as my 7th and 8th grade teacher at Mcpherson Elementary. Thanks to his encouragement and sincere caring I was able take a chance when deciding what high school to attend. He had a great sense of humor and was able to use it to capture his students' attention. I remember how he would go above and beyond to make sure we had reading materials, my favorites being The Count of Monte Cristo and The Nautilus. I will never forget that I got in a little bit of trouble for sneaking in a birthday cake to celebrate his birthday although our principal had prohibited all types of parties. What can I say, he deserved that and more...However, he came to the rescue and stood up for me. I will never forget him and I want you to know that my prayers are with you... To his parents, thank you for having such a wonderful son who was able to touch so many lives... with much love, I extend my sincere condolences.

Mr. & Mrs. Bobins,
I was very saddened this morning to hear of a great mans passing. I was blessed to have your son as a teacher, and a mentor in 7th and 8th grade. I've never learned so much about history in those 2yrs, he made a great impact in my life thru education and life lessons. Not to mention he good sense of humor, I still remembered the day he dropped OJ on his shoe and got his sock wet, all he did was laugh it off and dried it outside our classroom window. Your son will be remembered as great man, teachers and human being. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

My heart goes out to the Bobins family, my sincere condolences. Mr. Bobins made a wonderful impact on life. I had the opportunity to be his student during 7th and 8th grade. He cared about his students, he was so funny, a GREAT Teacher, the list goes on. He made good lasting impressions on our classes at McPherson. We will miss him dearly and surely he will not be forgotten.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Bobins,

I'd known Rob for the past 5 years. He was exceptionally honest and insightful as well as gifted in many areas. He was one of the most intelligent and compassionate and incredibly funny person I know. My thoughts are with you. I was just about to get in touch with him today (after talking with him a few months ago) and found out about this incredible young man, who had so much to offer, had died. There's not much one can say in such a tragic circumstance so I will just let you know that Rob will always be in my memory. Truly a wonderful person.
