Robert Allison Obituary
The service to celebrate the life of Robert Johnston Allison will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church with Reverend Carol Hassell, Reverend Brian Taule and Reverend Tony Harper, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM Monday at McEwen Funeral Service - Derita Chapel.
Survivors include three children, Sherry Allison Powell and husband, Ted, Donnie Allison and wife, Lynne and Ronnie Allison and wife, Rhonda. Six grandchildren, Leslie Powell Young and husband, Robbie, Ashley Powell Honeycutt and husband, Matthew, Cameron Allison, Troy Allison and wife, Amanda, Collin Allison and Tyler Allison; and three great grandchildren, Lee Young, Paige Honeycutt and Caroline Young. In addition to his parents, Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his wife, Millie Horton Allison.
Memorials may be made to Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church, 4700 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216 or Calvary Baptist Church, PO Box 2, Mount Holly, NC 28120.

It is never easy losing a loved one no matter how long and satisfying their life may have been. During this difficult time "may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, comfort your hearts." (2 Thess 2:16, 17) I send my deepest sympathy.

It is with sadness I write this message to a wonderful loving family. Uncle Robert always had a smile and nothing but kind words for people. He was a proud father and husband as all will remember him as. We know that he is rejoicing to be home by the Glory of God. Your/Our sadness will pass as we all will miss him on this ground we know as earth. We shall see him and the rest of the Horton family again one day. Our prayers and thoughts are with the entire Allison family during this time. God bless and cherish all the beautiful memories.
