The world has lost a wonderful person. I will always remember Rita Ulrich as a compassionate woman who was a pleasure to be around. I spent a lot of time in her office after gym classes, when I would exercise too hard and have asthma attacks. She was always able to calm me down and get me cheerful and breathing normally. She was a great nurse and a great human being. Sincere condolences to the family.

My condolences to the family members. District 228 has had a history of excellent nurses and excellent nursing services during its history. Rita was one of these fine professionals who provided great services to students. I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Rita when I was at Oak Forest and when I served at the administration center. In addition, Rita was also a person who displayed a positive attitude and good humor whenever we met and talked. The world today has too few people with this quality. She will be missed by all of us who knew her.

Rita was one of the most dedicated and caring people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with. Whether it was monitoring a union grievance, dealing with the health needs of our students and faculty, or participating in a faculty social event, Rita was always well respected, fun to be around and a true credit to her profession. All of us at OFHS were well served by her GENUINE caring nature.

You have our deepest sympathy. Your mother was a great friend and colleague to me. We spent just about every Wednesday together for 14 years. I loved talking with her and even though I've moved to Florida I knew that I could call her anytime. She will be missed. You had a wonderful and special mother who loved her family very much.

I worked with Rita beginning in 1992. She was an amazing person with a big heart. Rita was a great nurse, very kind with the kids. She never wanted to leave her office at lunch, she was so dedicated. Her sense of humor was infectious. I never heard her say anything bad about anybody. She loved her profession & the people she worked with. They assigned me to be her lunch replacement each day so she could get out for an hour. We laughed because it was easier to get another person named Rita, so the kids wouldn't get confused with another name. She was missed when she retired, but I was happy for her to be able to enjoy life & travel. I was able to go out a few times with her to plays & dinner. She was a "hoot". Heaven has indeed welcomed a new angel. Love you Rita.
