Rico Butler Obituary

Bishop Butler was a great gospel preacher but thank the Lord his legacy lives on.

Dear Ivy Butler,
Myself and my brother (Jospeh Donald) send you our sincere prayers and condolences on the loss of your beloved husband.I remember how excited I was to see you after so many years from high school and just pondering only a few weeks ago on the prophetic words he spoke into my life during one of the times thathe ministered at Pastor Lee's church in South Bend. Although I have not seen or spoken to you since I lived in South Bend, Indiana please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

The Williams Family send our love and prayers to The Butler Family. Our former neighbors , but forever our life long family and friends we love you all forever !!! Be encouraged and look to the hills from whence cometh your help !!!

May God give you peace during this difficult time.I am sure God is smiling and saying Well Done my good and faithful servant.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family. I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow..A true Man of God is gone but never forgotten.

Lady Ivy Butler and Family: Our sincere prayers and thoughts are with you all at this time. God took an angel. He will be greatly missed by all. We can reflect back on the great legacy he left and draw strength and courage. We were blessed by his presence on earth. Our prayer that God will continually wrap his arms around you and your family and always close to him.

What an awesome prophetic man of God. I so enjoyed seeing God use him in such a powerful way. His legacy will forever live on by the many lives in which he touched. To Lady Ivy you and your family are in my prayers. We loved him but God loved him Best. Well DONE!!!!

May the comfort of God's love and of family and friends carry you through your season of grief. May the legacy of Bishop Butler live forever in the hearts of those he nurtured in Christ.

Our prayers are with the Butler family, the PIP family and the Michiana region as a whole as an awesome warrior in God's army and a powerful proclaimer of the Gospel has transitioned from earth to Heaven. No matter what your trials are, or how big your mountain seems;
The Lord is there to see you through; He'll go to all extremes.
So if your cross seems hard to bear, and you know not what to do;
The One who loves you most of all will be there to see you through.


We, the members of Deliverance Temple Church of God In Christ want the family and Power in Praise Crusade Ministries UCOGIC Church Family to know that our hearts and prayers are with you today.

WHEREAS, Bishop had such charisma that his gift always made room for him.

WHEREAS, He was a person who was always available to share an encouraging word and demonstrate strong support.

WHEREAS, He was a confident counselor and closest of friends.

WHEREAS, Whatever we gained from Bishop will forever be a part of our memory and we praise God for the opportunity we were given to know him. He will be missed so very much. A piece of the pattern is missing but God wants to fill it with himself for now. We do not know why - only God knows - so we must lean on Him for strength

WHEREAS, We are reminded of Dorcas also called Tabitha in God's Word who had gave her life for those she loved and used her gifts to bless God's people. So, there is such a great loss for such a Man of God that has given so much.

WHEREAS, Bishop was a leader, a friend, a fellow preacher of the Gospel, a Pastor, a Husband, a Father, Grandfather, Brother, Son, and other relationships.

WHEREAS, We say today, Man of God we bid you farewell until we meet again in Glory farewell.

WHEREAS, the passing of your beloved Bishop was the will of God and there is a human tie that has been broken which bleeds the heart in agony and pain. We are encouraged and consoled in the words of Jesus who said, “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee”.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we embrace the family because all of us have a common bond that will connect us for the rest of your lives. We cannot replace Bishop Butler, but will attempt to demonstrate his love and care toward others.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that to the family, we know your loss is deep and your sorrow is great, but we want you to know that we share in your sorrow, but more importantly, we recognize that this loss is Heaven's Gain.
When it is all over, we would like you to remember:

In case there's a time when you just need some cheer,
In case there's a problem you would like us to hear,
In case there's a favor you would like us to do-
We're here if you need us to help see you through.

We were shocked at the report of Bishop's passing.We are praying for the family. Bishop had a tendency of growing on you as you continued on to know him. A man of God that left too soon with few like him left behind.

To the Family of Rico Butler, My prayers and thoughts are with you. God chose to bring his jewel home with him. I remember being in the choir at Faith Temple and then Minister Butler could pull out what God had intrusted you with. I know he will be greatly missed.

No words can express how much you mean to me and my family. Tons of memories, laughter, tears and the inside jokes...love you!
