You have my deepest sympathy. I was very sorry to hear about your dad. Also, I was very surprised to hear about Alynne. I used to enjoy going to your house and staying overnight. Your family was like my family.

My dad, Paul Rogers, worked with Dick at WNUS and then WGN. When dad worked at WNUS, he used to take me to the station and then put me to work writing his newcasts. Eventually, it was made official. I remember Dick interviewed me and hired me for my first "grown-up" job writing the news at WNUS. I am sad to hear that he has passed. My dad died yesterday and I'm glad there will be a friendly face waiting to talk "news" with him.

I'll miss my "mentor" for his pure professionalism, talent, knowledge and the rewarding times working with him. He, also, had a great laugh.

Janice, Rich, Janice, and family: I am very sorry for your loss. I will miss Richard also. He was a special and talented person. One I enjoyed working with, and talking to. Being a perfectionist, he could bring out the best in a person. Many of us had some very happy years in the theater together. Some good memories. Richard is in those memories.

Jan, Please accept my condolences. I know it was a long hard journety for you. Carol

The loving grace of God is powerful enough to comfort all of us as we face these sorrowful losses of dear family and loved ones.

Grandpa,
Don't be scared about passing. You have moved on to a better place where there is no pain, no sorrow and everyone is in their most beautiful(well in your case most handsome) state. You have nothing to worry about because aunt Alynne will show you the ropes. You will never be forgotten and always have a place in my heart.

I love you!
Kate

I love you grandpa,

We would like to express our sympathy to the family of Mr. Thorne. Especially our dear friends Jan & Dale Kidd. We were honored to have met Jan's Dad last year during our visit to Minneapolis and want them and the entire family to know they are in our thoughts and prayers during this time of sorrow.

Dear Dad:
I will miss you so much! The laughter we have shared will be the hardest. We truly had a unique way of looking at things, and not all of my sisters or brother look at it quite the same. I will miss our "outings" and especially our special times. You will remain in my heart always!
love
