Richard Ruff Obituary

Ruff Sr., Richard P. suddenly, August 23, Veteran of the Korean War, loving husband of the late Joan (nee Bassler), devoted father of Richard P. Jr. (Janet), Rosalyn and the late Roxanne, dearest grandfather of Richard III and James, adored brother of Patricia (Jack) Purcell of Houston, TX, and the late James (Caroline) Ruff of Florida, cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews and survived by a host of friends. Funeral Friday, 10:30 a.m., from the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., to Queen of All Saints Basilica for Mass at 11 a.m. Interment Maryhill Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. 773-736-3833

Mr Ruff,

It was an honor to have met you this year, while coaching your grandson, James, in baseball. I really enjoyed the baseball topic talks we had before and after games. You will be missed by the team, their parents and myself, as we have gotten accustomed to seeing you sitting down the left field line observing each game. May God bless you and your family during this difficult time.
