Richard Rogers Obituary
Richard James (Jimmy) Rogers, age 68 passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 25, 2023 at his Countryside, Illinois home. Born in Chicago, Illinois on January 5, 1955, raised in Bolingbrook, Illinois and lived in Countryside, Illinois for the last forty five years. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas F. Rogers, Sr. and mother Mary Violet Rogers (nee Verity). He is survived by his loving daughter Cassandra Sluga (Mike), grandson William DesFosses, granddaughter Angelina DesFosses and grandson Jakub Sluga, brothers Thomas F. Rogers, Jr. (Annie), Steven P. Rogers (Lorrie), John R. Rogers (Heidi), Daniel K. Rogers (Karen) sisters Loretta C. Kramer (Doug) and Mary Ann Smith (Robert), thirteen nieces and nephews and seventeen grand nieces and nephews.
Jimmy loved to fish with his grand children William and Angelina at his summer home in Cedar Lake, Indiana. He enjoyed having coffee and doughnuts with friends at his local Dunkin Doughnuts prior to work. He also enjoyed family gatherings with his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada, San Francisco, California and Scottsdale, Arizona to visit two of his out of state brothers.
Family and friends will gather at his brother Steven's home between 3:00 to 5:00pm at 140 Seabury Road in Bolingbrook, Illinois on Saturday, November 4th for Jimmy's Celebration of Life.
In lieu of flowers, Jimmy was a huge supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and ASPCA. If you choose to do so, please make a donation to either of these fine organizations.

The Angels came way to soon to take you home to Heaven. You touched the lives of everyone you met, especially your loving family. Life won't be the same without you here with us, but you left us with many special memories to warm our hearts. Rest in peace my dear brother!
