I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great man. I remember when we where nine years old in your basement practicing for Puttin On The Hits and your dad said we should be on Star Search. He will be missed and always remembered. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Cindy, Meghan, Pat, Phyllis & Frank,
I wanted to say something about Richie last night, but like most just couldn't. What I remember about Richie was how important family & friends was to him. He was always the guy to call inviting a get together. He was always the one who'd stop by for a visit just to check that you're doing ok. We grew up on the same block most of my life & as you know I'm still on it! I see his house every morning as I pull up the shades. There are many times I think about that man who couldn't sit still for a second & how he took care of the house with Sky following behind him. It wasn't until I dated Jim that I really got to know Richie. Hanging out in the basement or taking a ride to the lake with a six pack & just watching the water & talking.
Richie would do anything for you & looked forward to being able to. He was sweet, neurotic at times, intense, and a talker.
He'd give you the shirt off his back & open the door to his house to anyone. Take advantage of that generosity & kind heart & then you'd anger him. Then & only then you'd feel regret for the loss of a good friend.
My sons had a great time with you guys in Michigan. We all were so shocked when we heard what happened. Hard to believe & accept.
If there's any way to take comfort..I like to believe that Richie isn't lying there...God knows he could never sit still. He's busy someplace else for sure.
Love to you guys,
Linda, David & Jeremy Sanicki

Cindy and Meghan, we are sorry for your loss. Rick was a fine man and father. He spoke of you both many times to me, with such pride. He is resting with no pain, just waiting for us to join. When we spoke, I told him to have a seat ready for all family and friends for a great reunion. He is with God and his other family...we will be with him later......

Dear Cindy and Meghann, Pat, Phyllis and Frank,

I’m so sorry to hear of my cousin’s passing. My deepest condolences to all.

I was stunned when Cindy called me with the news Thursday morning since the last time I saw Rich he was as healthy and jolly as ever.

I was fortunate in that I had had the opportunity to have a number of reunions out in South Haven, Michigan with “Ritchie” (as I still called him from our days as kids and he called me “Johnny” all the time) as the years and geography had brought us closer together. I am grateful for those times.

It was fun to get reacquainted and spend time together and recall fond childhood memories when we ‘kids’ had spent a whole lot more time together than after we grew up and went our separate ways.

But, as I wrote above, the passing of time and geography brought us back together, as well as the opportunity to meet and get to know you, Cindy, and to also reunite with my other cousins, Pat and Frank, who were both present in South Haven during one of my visits.

Later, time and distance and our own lives would again pull us apart.

But I know Rich(ie) is now back together with his dear mother and father, my Aunt Helen and Uncle Chester (my brother’s godfather) and my mother's brother.

Cindy and Meghann, Pat, Phyllis and Frank, I will keep Rich in my heart, memories and prayers. I wish I could be there with you at your time of sadness. I will say a prayer for all of you, too.

Peace, Love & Mercy,

Your friend and cousin,

Your Extended Family.....LATER BABY...LOVE YOU

We will always keep you in our hearts. You are familyto us and will always be..Terry and Shellie are your extended Brother and Sister. We knew you when you were a little boy, and will have many memories. These will be kept in our hearts forever. You always called me your "second Mom", and I knew your Mom, Helen, did not mind. We spoke of this many times. Tell Mom and Dad and the family we said "hi" and.....Later.............as we part.....

Rich was an all around great guy! He was fun to be with, he cared deeply about his family & friends. I remember vividly of our journey to the lakefront in winter to watch the waves crash against the rocks at night. Rick loved nature, this is something we both had in common.
