Richard Piotrowski Obituary

Piotrowski, Richard It is with great sadness that the family of Richard, Dick Peters, Piotrowski, 81, of Morris, IL announces his passing on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Hines VA Hospital. He was born February 1, 1936, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Edward "Minnow" and Annie (Korzin) Piotrowski. Richard served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957 during the Korean War. He was extraordinarily successful in car sales for many years, owning several businesses from Western Ave to Tinley Park, but his favorite job was as a firefighter with the Chicago Fire Department. Richard was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed traveling, especially to Acapulco. Most important to him was spending time with his family and friends. He also loved taking care of his many pets. Richard will be remembered as a fun and loving person! Richard is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Rodriguez) Piotrowski; his children, Edward (Beth) Piotrowski, Kim Opalacz, Denise (Tim) O'Leary, and Jacqui (Mike) Zunica; step-children, Rick (Maryann) Caponigri, Christine (Mike) Lynch, Robert Chayka, and Steven (fiancée, Courtney Brandt) Chayka. Beloved brother-in-law; cousin and fond uncle to many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-son, Jimmy Caponigri, and his former wives, Rachel (Trapnell) and Josephine (Bozikis). Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home. Military honors will commence at 3 p.m. Enhanced video tributes will be played during the visitation.
