I just happened to be wondering this morning whatever happened to my "favorite boss" and if he was still in the airline industry so I googled his name. I was so hurt to hear of his passing. He was my boss at Air Florida / Midway Airlines in Florida back in the 80's. He was a wonderful person and the best boss I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I will always remember and treasure the very fond memories of those days at the "hangar" on NW 36th Street.....some of the best times of my life. It was truly a joy to work with him.

I grew up with Dick in Hinsdale and have many fond memories of school, sports and childhood fun with him. Our impromptu baseball games were the best! He will have a special place in our hearts when the HTHS Class of '57 gathers for its 50th year reunion next year.

Although I did not know Mr. Pfenning very well, I know that he was held with high respect within the airline industry. Here at PSA headquarters you can always hear stories and experiences about him. I know he will be greatly missed and I wish his family well.
