Morrell, Richard "Dick" 74, of Darien. Beloved husband of Betty; loving father of Wendy Shamrock and Jacqueline (Kenneth) Armbrister and the late Robert (Debbie) Morrell; devoted grandfather of Jesse (Ashley), Cody and Jacob Shamrock, Joshua and Bradley Morrell; dear great-grandfather of Annabelle Shamrock; fond brother of David (Jeri), Craig (Pat), Charlie, Phil (Barbara) Morrell, Marilyn (Rick) Koszyk and the late Edna Houbolt; dear uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle of many. Visitation 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 6605 S. Kane Ave., Hodgkins. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family appreciated. Dick retired from NCG/Liquid Air with 25 years of service. He was also a former Hodgkins village trustee, a Hodgkins Civil Service Board member, a former Police Chief of Hodgkins/McCook Park District, and a former volunteer Pleasantview firefighter.
