Desr Elli:
My sincere sympathy about Dickie's passing. We grew up together on Christiana Avenue. He was the main reason I went to Grinnell. After a very long period we met again at the College. I was planning on catching up with him this summer when I'm in Chicago. To you, your family and Mickey my deepest sympathy.

Dear Ellie,
We just learned about Dick's passing and are shocked. Dick and you have been some of the most delightful friends over 50 years. It's hard for us to believe that he is no longer with us. His memory will be with us forever. He was an outstanding insurance agent and we spent many wonderful times together on many of the educational conferences. Our deepest sympathy.
Much love, Dede and Sam

Ellie, Pam and Jill,
I'm so sorry and sad that I cannot be there with you at this time. I was just looking at pictures of Dick at our wedding - it's hard to believe it was just a little over a year ago. His cheerfulness and joy in the happiness of anyone close to him is something I'll always remember. My thoughts are with you on such a difficult day and at such a hard time...

I know what it's like to lose a father, Jill, and I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. My thoughts are with you and Steve and your family. Reading in the Sun-Times about what a great storyteller he was lets me know that you will always have great memories to keep. My dad was a great storyteller, too, and I'm always surprised how often his stories pop up in my mind. He'll really always be with you.
Much love you to and Steve.
