Dick was the most generous and caring man I ever met. A true gentleman. We never failed to discuss our common bond: Naval Aviation. He will now be the "missing man" in our formation.

Dear Beverly,

I am so sorry that you have lost Dick. Each time I saw him at the North Shore Senior Center, many times of over many years, he had such a wonderful smile, encouraging words, and sparkling warm eyes. I will miss those moments.

Please accept my sympathies that Dick's journey on this earth has ended.

Dear Beverly, Cindy, Rick & family. Please accept my deepest sympathies for your lose. Dick was not only a good friend, but a personal savior to me two-fold by employing me with a job I had no knowledge but soon learned. And when my mother was ill & dying, he sent me home with full pay to be with her until the end. I will always remember his kindness. God speed, Dick.

My husband and I met Dick, Beverly, Charlie and Barbara through mutual friends, Jan and Jack Lungmus. He was a kind and gracious person and will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bev and her family.

Dick was a wonderfully gracious and engaging person who will be missed by all of us at Lawrence University and Bjorklunden. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bev and her family.

We deeply regret the passing of Dick Joutras, our fellow parishioner at All Angels Church. We send our sympathies to his family.

We met only briefly, but I will not forget Compatriot Dick Joutras, or his lovely wife Beverly. Our Chaplain will say a special prayer for them both at our next SAR meeting.

I met Bev and Dick through Cindy a number of years ago. Dick was invariably interesting and gracious. I'm sure that he enriched the life of anyone with whom he had contact as he did mine. Sympathy to all the family and friends for the loss.

When through one man a little more love and goodness, a little more light and truth come into the world - then that man's life has had meaning. Dick was an inspiration to his family and to all who were touched by his life. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

It seems moments ago that we were all young adults starting our families in Glenvew. The memories of Dick and Bev and their kind and generous spirit are still with me. Having lost my own father just a few months ago, I understand the deep pain and sorrow of losing the bigger than life patriarch of the family. Too many memories! My grandpa was larger then life. I am where I am because of my grandpa. He always had faith in me. When my son is born in June, I know he will be there. We have lost a big part of our life. They don't make people like my grandpa anymore! I know my grandpa would be proud of gramma. Her faith in god and love is our strength. WE LOVE YOU GRAMP!!! Our last family reunion remains my most vivid memory of my big brother, my hero and insprator. We were two old men sitting next to each other, with our matching canes at rest, discussing how rapidly time has gotten away from us. We both apolized for not staying closer. It's always sad when a lovely friend passes, but seldom is there someone we all wish could live on and on. You will Dick in our hearts. What a true treat to have known you.
