I am a pediatric radiologist at Childrens Memorial Hospital. I met Dr Herron at the Lake Shore Health Club, and we frequently spoke. He was a very congenial and fine man. I also knew his wife Jane, at least by sight.

I wish to extend my sincere condolences to all the family.

To Jane and the members of the family, do know how deeply Joan and I are grieved by Richard's tragic death. Jane and he deserved a long and happy retirement together.

Our sincere condolences to the Herron family. When I learned of the tragic accident that took Dick's life, my thoughts went back to when Dick and Joan were growing up in Glencoe and my parents were very close friends with "Aunt Fran" and "Uncle Earl" as we called our parents' friends in those days. I remember the Herron family with great fondness and respect. They were very special people!

Jane, you and I were introduced to one another years later in Winnetka. My heart goes out to you and your children and grandchildren, to Joan and Howard, and to all the many people who loved Dick and will miss his presence in their lives. Mickey and I are so sorry for your loss.

I was a grammar school, high school and college classmate and a lot more. Our paths have crossed many times as did his father, my father and his grand father. And as his son who worked in my office. His imprints will never disappear.
