Gavrys, Sr. Richard W. age 75, September 21, 2001 in Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Romeoville, A veteran of WWII serving U.S. Navy. An electrical Maintainer for the C.T.A. retiring in 1981 after 31 years of service, member of the I.B.E.W. of Chicago. Survived by Loretta Gavrys, father of Patricia (William) Monson, Richard (Susan) Gavrys, Jr., Thomas Gavrys, Linda Odom and Craig Gavrys, brother of Lorraine Swanson and Elizabeth Buevlot, grandfather of Eric and Julie Gavrys, Michelle and Christine Monson, also Ryan Odom, uncle of many nieces and nephews, preceded in death by his parents Walter and Elizabeth Gavrys. Visitation Thursday, 3 to 9 p.m. at the Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Dr., Romeoville. Funeral Friday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel.
