Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Curry family, as well as our prayers. I worked with Dick for several years, and whenever we didn’t have a recruit, we were partners on Beat 1933. The tour of duty with Dick as your partner was not just a job; it was an adventure. He made the job fun, and had more friends in the district and on his beat than any police officer I’ve ever known. We will miss him dearly.

To Bridget and all of the Curry Clan: Be comforted by your memories of having lived with a good and loving man who was so proud of his children and who deeply loved his wife. He always had a kind word or a joke at the ready. It was a pleasure to see him at the desk in 019.
God felt that he had suffered enough and took him home, but I know that it was far too soon for all of you. Have faith that you will see him again on another plane in endless time. The body may die, but the love lives on forever.

I only met Dick once when he was up here in Montreal with Bridget & Patricia. I was impressed with him. He was a great guy, bright, knowledgeable and down to earth. All and all the people of Chicago were lucky to have had him on the case for so many years.

He could not have been a more dedicated dad and husband. What children he raised and what a great home he had! He leaves a big empty space that will be filled with memories. His children, grandchildren, and friends, even Edgar Ramos grieve his passing. We love you Bridge. Sis

My deepest condolences to you Bridget and your family. I thoroughly enjoyed working with RJ at the 019 desk. He always had a good story to tell. I'll never forget when I called him, how we both rejoiced when the White Sox won the World Series. He was a good man Bridget and loved you and your family dearly. I'm glad I was blessed to know him. May God's Love and your many memories of RJ be your comfort at this time. Ms. Kates

Thank God I had the chance to tell him personally how grateful I was because Richard welcomed me to his home, even though I had been born in another country and my native language was not English. When Bridget and Richard´s children were born I felt like a real aunt to them because I was welcomed as part of the family. Richard did not speak much, but you knew that he was a happy man and loved his wife and family. I am sure he has been welcomed in his new life by all the people who appreciated him and loved him on earth. Love to you my dear family, Tati

Hi Bridget,
I am so very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. When I think of dick, my mind goes back to the 70's when I first met him @ Wellington and Seminary. I was 17 years old then. Had I not listened to his words of wisdom (and his right hand), my life would have taken a turn, but not for the better. A few years later, we talked about that day. We also talekd about the gang bangers from the neighborhood who didn't listen to him. You know where this story is going.
I will truly miss him and his sense of humor and his knowledge. Take care of yourself and know that I will pray for him and his family. Please let me know if I can help in any way!

Richard Curry: A big man, a good man, a policeman. And he left this world for God's knowing he was loved. Bridget, you and he created a fine family, so he lives on, with God and with us. I still think someone's missing whenever I go to 019...it just doesn't look complete without him.R.I.P.
