Richard Bobek Obituary

Bobek, Richard S. 59 years of age, passed away from his battle with cancer at his family home on March 6, 2017. He was born on August 18, 1957 to Juanita and Richard Bobek. He attended Hale Elementary School and St. Rita High School. He worked for Household Finance (HSBC) for 40 years. He is survived by his brother, Mark and sister, Mary Beth Bobek, her husband Dr. Brian Legere along with nephews, Ryan, Ben and Collin. He will be missed by his uncle, Florian Mizones; cousins, Lynne and Bob Mizones; along with George and Dan Dewar. He was blessed with a close circle of friends which include Ray and Frank Matovich, Rick Knapczyk and Sandy Dudick. Please join us in a celebration of his life at a luncheon at Marriott Hotel Midway Airport at 6520 S. Cicero Avenue, Chicago IL. Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rich's name to the American Cancer Society.

So sad. Rick, Ricky at the time, was the ring bearer at our wedding in 1964. Though we've seen him many times after that, that is how we will always remember him. The cute little blonde boy with the pillow. Rest in peace, Rick, the end came way too soon.

I am saddened to hear Rich has passed. I worked with him at Household and HSBC on a variety of projects over a span of 20 plus years. He was a really good person who was always a hard worker as well as upbeat and cordial. May God bless him and comfort his loved ones.
