My Darling Pal Ria,
You were honored in style last night, at the "Remembering Ria" gathering when Jack, Bari, nephew Pat, Carmen, several of your closest pals, as well as some of Bari's friends, joined Fred and I at our home to toast you, celebrate your life and remember what a great friend you were, - - - not to forget, the best mom ever to Bari and Tony! We shared old photos, funny stories, laughed, hugged and used up a few packages of Kleenex, for all of the tears we shed knowing that you are no longer with us on earth. But, you were definitely here in spirit - - you could not fool us when that lightbulb started flickering in the middle of the event!!
Everyone brought a little something to eat and some wine. There were also some lemon drop martini's and mango margarita's to sip throughout the evening. We gathered from 5:00-8:00, which seemed just perfect for "Ria Time". I felt fortunate to have Bari and Jack stay a little longer, along with Deb and Tony, and Bari's college friend, Elaine, so Fred and I had some more intimate time to chat and share feelings about our great sense of loss.
I am so sad that you did not feel up to visitors when I tried to come out to visit over the most recent months, never seeing you again after my Sept. 2006 visit to your beautiful and beloved Palm Springs. I will cherish that visit always.
I, along with many others, will miss you dearly. I am sorry you suffered so much for such a long time this past year. Rest peacefully, sweet girl!
To all of Ria's family, may your wonderful memories help ease the pain. Thoughts of Ria and her big, warm, wonderful smile will never die!
Love,
Cyndee Keiser

Bari, Tony and Jack,
I recently heard the sad news and want to say how sorry I am about your loss. I've often reflected over the wonderful times Ria and I shared for so long. There will only be 1 Ria - and her friends, like myself, will never forget her impact and unique charm.

Dear Jack, Bari & Tony,
I'll never forget the first day I met Ria. It was June, 1980 at North School Community Center. We were signing the kids up for programs and we were immediately attracted to eachother because were dressed in workout clothes. What else??
Ria will remain in my heart forever and bring a smile to my face when I think of her.
Love to you all.

Dear Jack, Bari and Tony - It's so good that Ria got away from the cold to enjoy the warmth. We will always remember her short shorts and baseball talents. She was fun and we will always remember the crazy times with her. All our love to you, Carolyn, Eddie, Mere, Aly and Rob

Bari, Tony and Jack,
Sue and I were heartsick when we read of Ria's passing. We only remember the wonderful days at 990 and early Glencoe, the barbecues, holidays, etc. Our hearts are with you and the boys share our feelings. We love you all.
