Rev. Lee's first love was preaching the word of God. He pastored The Pentecostals of Cloutierville UPC for 17 years and was an accomplished musician and gifted for playing the fiddle, guitar, bass guitar and piano but his favorite instrument was the fiddle. Rev. Lee held nursing home church services at the Natchitoches Hospital for over 30 years.

He was a graduate from Cloutierville High School earning valedictorian honors of his class. He attended Alexandria Business College and graduated from Natchitoches Trade School in electronics. Mr. Lee was a retired business man and owner of Lee's Furniture Depot for over 57 years. His favorite past time was playing golf with his buddies at Natchitoches Country Club and Northwestern Hills. Doug also played golf in Dallas in the PGA Super Seniors Golf Tournament with Dale Douglas at the Bridlewood Country Club in Lewisville, TX.

Those left to cherish many happy times and loving memories are his loving wife of over 56 years, Dorothy Mae Futrell Lee; two sons, Douglas DeWayne Lee and his wife Anita of Garland, TX and Rev. Kevin Lee and his wife Kristi of Natchitoches; three daughters, Brenda Lee Edwards and her husband Mike of Natchitoches, Karen Lee Peppers and her husband Josh of Natchitoches, Sharon Lee of Alexandria; one brother, Burl Dean Lee and his wife Bobbi of Campti; brother-in-law, Buddy Futrell and his wife Linda of Boston, VA; and 1st cousin, June Walker of Natchitoches (who was like a sister to him). Doug was blessed with 7 grandchildren, Brenton D. Lee, Alison Lee Barnhart, Tiffany Edwards Weeks, Brianna Lee, Kristanna Lee, Hannah Peppers and Ava Mae Peppers; as well as three great grandchildren, Trace Parker, Brooke Dorsey and Makena Barnhart.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Rev. Randal Barnhart, Charles Brossette, David Colunga, Mike Edwards, Brenton D. Dear Lee Family,

I was truly sorry for the loss of Doug. He was always a good old Chopin boy that 'did good.' He was always fair in business and had many repeat customers over the years.

My prayers are with all of the family and friends that knew Doug so well.

He will be missed by many.

May the Lord bless and keep all of his family. You are all in my prayers.
With respect and friendship.
