Well I can say that the Krib's and the Goss's kids all have wonderful memories of visiting Uncle Ray and Aunt Kim in Cooksville. Uncle Ray was pretty intimidating at times, he told the tale of the Cricket Man who lived in the forest preserve and would visit the corn fields to feed. I did not believe such a thing so he told me to stand outside at night by the corn field with some salt that was poured in my hand. I had to call out for the Cricket Man. Now keep in mind I was about eight years old so I was scared out of my mind. I ran back inside within a few minutes explaining to Uncle Ray that I had to use the bathroom. Another memory was taking a shower and Uncle Ray yelling skunk! skunk! Well to my surprise he was there with a camera and all i had was a bath towel. We could never forget all of the animals, Kelly the cat that would be gone for days and come back home with battle wounds. Bernie and Bruiser my favorite dogs that I would sleep with at night. The kittens that I would feed grasshoppers to. Becky going inside the dog house. The gnomes that lived under the tree next to the garage. The exciting Christmas tree jamboree, making a fort out of Aunt Kim's kitchen table. Whoever fell asleep first got tickled with a feather and a face full of shaving cream by Uncle Ray. I remember Bobby being the first one to have that pleasure. The Christmas when Bobby and I opened our Red Rider BB Guns. Uncle Ray would set up a shooting range with pop cans. All of the woodcraft's that he would build, one of which was a bird feeder. All of us eating spaghetti at dinner, Becky wiping her hands on the kitchen chairs and Uncle Ray yelling at her. Introducing me to the Rolling Stones and the famous song "I can't get no satisfaction". He taught me how to ride the yard tractor. Rocky the raccoon and the song that went along with it, "Rocky raccoon went to his room to only find his bible". Taking all of us to our annual Little Red School House. One of his famous quotes which he loved repeating was of me saying "Uncle Ray you made me pee in my good jeans". So many memories which made all of us who we are today and that we shall never forget. We will see you again someday........ Love Ryan

Uncle Ray most definitely had a huge heart and great love for many people that have known him. He has touched many people's lives with his warm and outgoing personality. As you can see, his nieces and nephews were able to share many great memories with him, ones we will always hold close to our hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with Ray's family and friends.

Uncle Ray was such a great person in my life as well as my families life. I loved going to visit in Cooksville and also paying much attention to the animals there. My passion for animals has definitely sprouted from my trips to Cooksville. I remember all the stories around the camp fire, the barbie work out tapes my Aunt and Uncle would rent for me, and all the loving memories I will cherish dearly for the rest of my life. You were very good to us nieces and nephews, and you hold a special place in my heart. We will miss you very much, and I want to thank you for being so kind and loving to us, and giving us a great childhood we will never forget! Miss you Uncle Ray and love you very much!

"When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight" ~ Kahlil Gibran

Uncle Ray, it was always a delight visiting you guys in Cooksville. Those fun times with my cousins are part of the reason we're all so close today. I'll always remember the joy I felt knowing I was coming to visit. No matter what we did, I knew it would be exciting. I loved staying up late when you would frighten us with your scary stories, loved visiting with the dogs, cats and geese, loved making tents under the kitchen table, loved trying to get a glimpse of the Keebler Elves that lived in the tree… but I think my favorite times were when I'd climb in your chair and you'd read to me from one of your many books. My love of reading came from that; you had such a way of bringing the stories alive.

I’ll always cherish those times, and remember them in delight. I love you.
Love, Heather

Dear Wasielewski family,
Our hearts are saddened with the passing of Ray. I will always remember the patience he had with me in being my first guitar instructor. I still have that original guitar in the case with my music - and the first song he tried so hard to teach me - Michelle ma belle. I think Ray knew "a Joan Baez, I would never be!"

Dearest Ray, Pat, and family,
Tom, the kids, and I cannot tell you how sorry we are about the loss of Raymie. Whenever the kids asked Raymie how he was doing, he would say, "Peachy." He liked to make the kids laugh and trick them with little jokes. If you need anything, we are right next door.
Love,
Marge, Tom, Samantha, Mark, Ryan, and Kevin
