Hi Ray,
It been one year since you passed away, and I miss you lot's. I think of the time I called you to help me find the way to places because I don't know my way around. I wish you were here to see Tony V. get married in Aug.(2009). You were so close to him and I now he would like you to be at his wedding. His so-to-wife is so wonderful, bright, smart, loving, caring, you would enjoy her and know they are a perfect match. I went to his church a few times and emjoyed myself. THe grandkids are getting so big. Jesse is 15 and going into 10th grade. Brittany is 14 and starting HS, so they keep me real busy and active. The others are so much fun. Sieanna is already 15 months and she is so adorable, independant and smart. She says over 25 words, colors and runs around like a 2 year old. She is so attached to "Papa" (Jerry). Well... Monica is spell checking my post to you, since I cry everytime I write and get all worked up. I love you so much and I miss you greatly. I do know I will see you again... Just keep watching over us!

Love Always,
Your sister June.

Brother Ray,
I hope that this poem will bring some peace from all the pain:

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am cool breezes on a warm sunny day, The refreshing rains that come in May. I am the rustle of Crisp Autumn leaves, The glistening ornaments on your Christmas trees. I am all of those smiles in pictures taken, In photos past, and those of future generations. I am the joy in laughter, the tears in your eyes, The love in your newborn babies' cries. I am the garden flowers that you tend for me, The ones you planted so lovingly. I am white butterflies fluttering by, Whenever you see me, be sure to say "Hi." I am the ducks in the yard, the birds in the air, The "Boys" you take care of now that I'm not there. I am the bluest of blues that you love so much, Now my children, have peace, please hush. For that is where I am, in all these things, I'm your Guardian Angel now, you've given me wings. Don't be sad, please don't cry. Your love gave me wings, now watch me fly.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

To my beloved brother Ray,

Everybody says, including myself, that life is too short and precious. I'm sorry for not spending more time with you; however, I know I will see you again in a better place.

I have many sweet memories of you close to my heart. There are few I would like to share. I remember when I was little and your family coming over to mom and dads house for Christmas dinner. I remember dad and you working on the cars in the driveway. The family picnic in 1977, and playing in the back yard softball, horse hose and enjoying a good meal. My funniest memory of you was, how hard it was to wake you up - sometimes Nancy and I would both have a pitcher of ice water and we would dump it on you and run down the stairs as fast as we could because you would jump out of bed chasing us outside, funny that was the only way you would wake up.

It’s hard to believe how fast our children grow up. My daughter Lisa is now 25 and she has three daughters Alexis is 7, Mersadies is 5 and Hailey is 4. I love being a grandma to three beautiful girls. It’s still hard to believe that almost 20 years later I would have a son. I've included a picture of your youngest nephew Kyle. He just graduated from kindergarten and is 6 years old.

My daughter and son had a terrific uncle.

For my sister-in-law Carol and your children, I give you my deepest sympathy and I have all of you in my prayers and thoughts.

Well Ray, I wasn't much on words either, so I'm done writing for now I'll miss you deeply.

I can feel your presence by me so this is not good-bye. I'll see you upstairs when it’s my turn to visit and tell everybody that I love them.

I'll always love you - your sister,

Ruthie Lamping

We love you uncle/great uncle Ray! Love Monica, Jesse & Sieanna Norton

I can’t comprehend just how sad you must feel for the loss of someone you love.

This sorrowful time must still feel unreal and you’re looking for strength from above.

I hope, from my heart, that your pain will decrease, that your spirit will gain strength again, and I pray that your faith will create inner peace and that God will send blessings.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
