My deepest sympathy on the passing of Dr Ray. I was so disappointed when I called for an appointment only to also find out he had gone to his eternal rest. Today when I had my exam by Dr Shari, it was so refreshing to see what a wonderful person and professional she had grown up to be and how proud he must have been of her and her accomplishments. I'm confident from my many visits and conversations he was equally as proud of the rest of his family as well. Dr Ray was a fine human being, professional, family man and contributor to the community. How fortunate for those of us who continue as customers of Dr Shari that Ray was able to leave a living part of him. May he rest in eternal peace and may God forever comfort his loved one's.

We are very shocked and saddened by the loss of Dr. Ray. He was such a special and fun loving light hearted person who helped a 16 year old girl with bad eyesight see better. It has been 23 years since that first appointment and I am so thankful to have known him. I am also grateful that such a big part of him lives on in his family, especially Dr. Shari. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers.

To Dr. Ray's Family-
I was very upset when I learned of the death of my good friend. Ray spoke often of my racing family and of the friends we had in common. I appreciate all of the knowledge he passed along, I learned a great deal and enjoyed our time together. My thoughts and prayers are with the family...he will be missed.

I was very sorry to hear of Ray's passing. Charlie Lewis e-mailed me. I remember all the good time we had at Lamplighters and all the fun and friendships that were made from this group. That has been 40 years.
Again my sympathy to you and yours.Arlene

Hi, Doc.
I hope Ronnie was at heaven's gate to meet you. I know you probably had lots of greeters welcoming you to the great place.
I know you know the pain that your family is going thru at this time and I wish I knew how to make it a little easier for all of them, especially Shari. She is so special to me, because she's such a caring person who lets me be me. She received so many of your great qualities in life. She will continue making you proud as she carries on your life long dream of being an eye doctor.
You have done a great job raising your kids. They are going to be able to stand proud Wednesday & Thursday when they realize how many people's lives you have touched.
Have fun riding dirt bikes with Ronnie.
We will all meet again some day in that great place we call home.
I love you & already miss you.
Love, Lisa

Ray:
My first councillor at Valpo and a really great guy!
I am not surprised at the many accomplishments and activities you achieved in your lifetime.
You always cared about others and helped us college newbies in a fatherly way that we all really appreciated.
Rest in peace my friend!

My sympathies for all in the family. Dr Ray was a great man with a real love of life. A great father, doctor, husband and friend, he will be missed greatly. I'll never forget his happy smile and booming voice calling us to dinner when we were younger. My prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.
