Hughes, Raymond E. Retired as Lieutenant after a 25-year career with the Chicago Fire Department. Dearly beloved husband of the late Laura Cronin Hughes, devoted father of Patrick, Thomas (Kathleen), Raymond (Maureen) and Michael (Dawn), loving grandfather of Brian, Mark, Courtney, Colin, Ryan, Meghan, Erin and the late Lauren, cherished son of the late Thomas and the late Helen Hughes, dear brother of the late William "Lefty" Hughes, fond uncle of Kelly, Cathy and William. Proud member of the Gaelic Fire Brigade and life long member of the Hamburg Athletic Assoc. Funeral Wednesday, 10 a.m. from McKeon Funeral Home, 37th St. at Lowe Ave., to Nativity of Our Lord Church. Mass 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation Monday, 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. For information call, 773-927-0925

D.D and I are so very sad for your loss. We have truly lost a great friend and terrific houseguest! We were fortunate to have been friends for such a long time and then be able to share in some great retirement time here in Florida. Our family here, especially our grandson Justin will miss your Dad this winter.
