Raymond Davis Obituary

Davis, Rev. Raymond age 89, Catholic priest of Joliet Diocese, ordained June 2, 1984, passed away Monday, March 17, 2003. A priest for 19 years after his wife, Anne (nee Zizzo) died in 1975. He is survived by his four children, Grace Loehr, Raymond (Ann) Davis, Margaret (Ken) Routenberg and Thomas Davis; seven grandchildren, Brian (Terri) Davis, Sarah (Jon) Whitehead, Benjamin (Bonnie) Davis, Rebecca (Jared) Wilmes, Anne Loehr, Cathy (Lyle) Busam and Sharon (Bob) Daly; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher, Emily, Brendan, Luke, Jessica, Barbara, Gracie and Nicole; his sisters, Rita (Mike) Nebasny, Rose (Charlie) Malek and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne and his daughter, Mary Anthony. He resided at St. Alexis Parish in Bensenville, where he served with special dedication to the Hispanic parishioners. He ministered to the cause of pro-life, nursing homes and many Catholic prayer groups. Prior to becoming a priest, Father Ray operated and owned the Raytex Corp. in Chicago. Visitation will be held at St. Alexis Church, 400 W. Wood St., Bensenville, IL, on Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary service at 5 p.m. and Prayers at 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, 11 a.m., at the church.
