Akers, Sr., Raymond F. Army Veteran, beloved husband of Rosemary (nee Korenkiewicz); loving father of Ray Jr. (Amy), Jane (late Tullio) Infelise, and Mary Akers, grandfather of Tullio Jr., Matthew, Genevieve, Ray and Tori, brother of the late Lorraine Akers, late James (late Monica), late Dolores Brennan, late Rosemarie Vales, and late Joseph (Theresa); uncle of many nieces and nephews. Retired employee of Cook County Clerk Office. Past Grand Knight of Daniel Dowling Council K. of C. and 4th degree member of Archbishop Quigley Council #2428. Funeral Monday 9:00am from Pomierski F.H., 1059 W. 32nd St., to St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church for 9:30am Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2-9pm. 773-927-6424.

Aunt Rosemary, I was very sorry to hear about Uncle Ray's passing. It's so sad that all of my dad's brothers and sisters are now gone. I have fond memories of all the family get-togethers when we were in Illinois. Please accept my sincerest sympathy.

Grandma, Ray, Janey and Mary there is no need to say how sorry we are for your loss because you already know how we feel, we first met Ray 15 years ago and from being our next door neighbor with time he became grandpa Ray,we learned to love him like a real grandpa, to Sergio he was the Grandfather he never had, thank you for allowing us to be by your family at all times and for giving us the privilege to have met such a wonderful man, always remember that you can count on us 24/7
