Randall Henzlik Obituary

Henzlik, Randall E. Of North Aurora, Illinois; November 26, 2011; age 60; Doting father of Victoria Potter Henzlik; Beloved son of Dr. Raymond E. Henzlik and the late Dr. Wilma Bartels Henzlik of Muncie, Indiana; Beloved brother of Nancy Henzlik Watts (Michael) of West Bloomfield; Uncle of Tom, Ryan, and Erin; Dear nephew of Donald and Barbara Henzlik, Peggy Henzlik, Kathy (John) Anderson, Jim (Pat) Busse, and Pat Bennett; Henzlik cousins: Jen Durnas, Bill Henzlik, Evelyn (Jim) Goodwyn, Joe (Laura), Paul along with Bartels, Walsh, and Bennett cousins. Pre-deceased by Addie (Rudy) Wolff, William H. (Mary) Henzlik, Fred (Viola) Bartels, Rev. Bart (Connie) Bartels, Lila & John McVay, and Rev. William C. Henzlik. Mr. Henzlik grew up in Muncie, Indiana and graduated from Muncie Central High School. He attended Purdue and Northwestern Universities. Randy moved to Chicago in 1970, to start work in the rapidly developing computer industry. Later he worked for RealCom, an IBM Company in Chicago. From 1985-1992, Randall served as President of the Henzlik Institute of Cognitive Development working with Dr. Wilma B. Henzlik. The institute specialized in cultivating intelligence in young children and presented seminars at Elmhurst College and Barat College in Lake Forest. At the time of his death, he was the managing partner and a trading system developer at Chicago Market Science Group, LLC. He was an entrepreneur and a self-taught scholar in Information Technology, horticulture, culinary arts, guitar, and history and was an accomplished chess player . He was strongly committed to his Christian faith. Not only a self-taught scholar, but a tenacious researcher into investment market dynamics (thus the "market science" in the business name). Once he set an objective he believed he could achieve, few people exceeded the commitment Randy brought to achieving his goals. After Victoria, the subject that he most enjoyed talking about was the Michael Jordan era Bulls. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 37 W. 100 Bolcum Road, St. Charles, Illinois (630) 485-3300. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday 9 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by the RIVERSIDE CHAPEL, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, Waterford, Michigan. Online guest book www.modetzfuneralhomes.com

Randy and I were good friends in our high school years. Our favorite pastimes involved skipping the convocations at school. We ran down the boiler room stairs through the boiler room. A makeshift smoking room was constructed in there. One of the teachers yelled out " Kelly! Henzlik! ". We ran up the steps to exit the building. I saw a headstone at the edge of the coal bin and near the stairs. Look at that! I yelled. After that the trade school instructors blocked all exits to the school. We were famous.

I am sorry to hear but this is belated. I believe his family was our neighbors in Muncie. I remember them as nice people. I know his sister Nancy was very nice. Too young to go, but he is with God now. My condolences to Nancy
