Ramona Bowman Obituary

Bowman, Ramona "Mona" Ramona Bowman (James) Age 76, passed unexpectedly, but peacefully from this world on February 25, 2015 at her residence. Devoted wife of William Bowman for 55 years; loving mother of Joyce (Bowman) Kunath (John), Julee Bowman (Steve), Jack Bowman (Dawn); beloved sister of Nora Zajac; proud grandmother of Kelli Kunath; beloved aunt of Mark (Becky) Zajac, Scott (Jan) Zajac, Angie (Ronald) Balle; and many more nephews and nieces; cherished cousins of Monette (Jim) Wanstreet, Clifford (Karen) Whittington, and Robert (Naomi) James. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Kenneth Bowman and sister-in-law, Joanne Case. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and John "Jack" James; infant brother and sister; and five brother and sisters-in-law. Mona was raised in Orient, IL and graduated from West Frankfort Community High School in 1957. She attended cosmetology school and moved to the Chicago suburbs where she was employed as a hairstylist while raising her family. She was a loving and protective mother with strong character who had a remarkable compassion for those in need and she gained strength through the word of God. Her granddaughter was the joy of her life. She also received joy in helping stray animals and wildlife in her area. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at the Cypress Funeral Home, 1698 North Bloomingdale Road, Glendale Heights, IL 60139 | 630-653-7666.
