Vucic, Petar

CHICAGO, IL - Petar Vucic, age 83, of Chicago, IL, formerly of the Croatian village of Cerno in Bosnia-Hercegovina, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Ruza Vucic; his daughter, Kata Vucic; his son, Ante Vucic; his daughter-in-law, Angelina Leko Vucic; his two grandchildren: Maya and Noah; his sister Stana Vucic; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ante and Ruza Vucic; his brother Ivo Vucic; and his sisters, Ivica Boskic and Janja Vucic. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 Directly at Sacred Heart Croatian Catholic Church, 2864 East 96 th Street, Chicago, where visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Stephen Bedenikovic officiating. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. Due to Covid-19, if you are attending services, face mask are required. Mr. Vucic was born and raised in the Croatian village of Cerno. He married his wife Ruza in Austria in October of 1967, where they lived for two years before immigrating to the United States in 1969. He spent over 30 years working as a janitor and plumber in Chicago, before retiring in 2005. Petar was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who adored his wife, children and grandchildren, as well as his dear friends and neighbors. He will be sorely missed.
