Dear Berry Family,

Peter was one of the funniest, charismatic people i met at The Academy. I'll never forget him falling off his skateboard all the time or trying to get the girls to take a bite out of his sandwich after he already ate half of it. He was sweet and funny and noone will ever forget him. RIP Big Pete.

Mark, Liam & the Berry family: my sincerest condolences on your loss. Peter was excellent company and never at a loss for words. I enjoyed hanging out with him and his friends at the smelt fishing party earlier this year. I'm glad to have met him and I'm sorry he's gone so soon. He'll be in my prayers.

My sister went to high school with Peter at Evanston Township. She was completely devasted to hear of your loss, as he had made such an impression in her life within a short period of time. I am truly sorry that you had to lose your loved one. Please know that even though I didn't know Peter well, I have a loved one who will miss her friend very dearly, and we share that pain with your family.

I didnt know Peter that well, I had a class or two with him in high school-he always seemed like a very nice young man-laughing and joking a lot. I'm so sad to hear what happened-I'm sure he will always be remembered by all he has touched during his short life.

Mark and Liam,

You were such a good brother, friend and mentor to Peter. I will never forget randomly running into you three guys at O’Hare before the “Rio-Trip” last year. You planned that trip to show Peter a unique part of the world and, of course, have a blast. That (and a million other great times) demonstrates the love and compassion you guys will always have for your little-bro.

I went to high school with Peter and I had a few classes with him. I always considered him one of my friends even though I didn't really spend time with him outside of school. After we graduated I didn't know if I would ever see him again. Luckily, about a month ago I saw Peter on the purple line on his way to Northwestern for work. When I saw him, we both made a face at each other as if we recognized one another. As I got close to him I said "Peter Berry?" and he smiled. I sat by him that day and we caught up until we got to my stop. Everyday since that day I have looked for Peter when I was on the purple line. After hearing about what happened I feel blessed that I was able to see Peter again after four years, even though it was brief. Peter was a very sweet, kind, and talented person. My thoughts go out to his family and to everyone who knew him and loved him. He will be greatly missed by many.

I haven't spent much time with him in recent years, but one of my favorite memories of Peter is when him and I had to rebuild a trail after a tornado up at Camp Echo. By the end of it I don't think I had ever laughed as hard as we both did, not to mention we were both covered head to toe with woodchips. I will always remember him making people smile. Peter was a wonderful person and will be missed by many. My prayers are with his family and friends. Peter, we will always love you.

Dear Cinda, Mark, Liam and all the other family members.

Peter was always one of my favorites, always. He was cute, jovial, charming and charsmatic (?) as all the Berry boys are. Not only did he come with us to pick out our cats, he named one of them, POCO. People of Chicago. He and Jason had a very special bond. They referred (?) to each other as cousins. And when Jason was asked to leave last winter, how unbelievable that Peter just happened to drive by our street as Jason was leaving and shared his place with Jason for those couple of months. He gave Jason hair cuts, good ones too. And last but not least Peter was a good boy. I will continue to keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
