March 14, 1947 – August 9, 2021 Pedro Ortiz, age 74, long time resident of the South East Side, passed away on August 9, 2021. Pedro was born on March 14, 1947 in La Loma, a ranch on the outskirts of Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Beloved husband of Martha (nee Mendez) for 41 years. Loving and caring father of Claudia (Ulysses) Ortiz-Reynoso, Pedro (Monica) Ortiz Jr., and Eduardo (Vanessa) Ortiz. Devoted grandfather to Gabriela and Sara Elena Ortiz, Beatrix Brie Reynoso, and Benjamin Gabriel Ortiz. Preceded in death by his parents Gabriel Ortiz Tenorio and Nicolaza Zavala Vega. Pedro immigrated to the United States at age 19 and was a retired employee of Solo Cup Company after 38 years of dedicated service. Pedro and his wife managed to achieve the American dream, buying their home and putting all their children through college with hard work and loving dedication.. Pedro was the pillar of his family, always there for his children when handywork was needed, or car troubles arose. He loved to have his home filled with good food and the laughter of his grandchildren. Pedro will be sorely missed but will forever live in the heart of his family and anyone who met him and knew his kindness.

Funeral Mass: Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10:00a Our Lady of Nazareth Church (formerly Annunciata Church) 11128 S. Ave G Chicago, Il 60617.
Interment: Good Shepherd Cemetery 16201 104th Ave Orland Park, Il 60467.
