Dear Wiemeyer Family,
My name is Alice Shoup, nee Nolan, and your mother and father were my God Parents. I was very sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing and my condolences go out to all of you. I am sorry I could not make it to the service or wake. I understand what you are going through since both of my parents are gone also. I believe she is in heaven now talking over old times with my parents.
I wanted to take a moment to let you know that I have very fond memories of both of your parents. As you may or may not remember, she and my Mom were in Nursing School together. I can remember them telling stories and laughing together that kind of laugh that a kid recognizes that something else was going on that the parents didn’t want the kids to know. Your mother was the first person I knew that knew my mom as a friend and not as a mom or a relative. It made me see how important friends were and it is the reason I have tried to keep in touch at least at Christmas with what was happening with my family. When my mom passed your Mom and Dad came and offered solace to us and showed that old friends are golden. I still have pieces of the first rosary she gave me at my First Holy Communion. When I graduated from 8th grade, they gave me a Piggy Bank that your mom made. It still sits on my dresser.
Again, my thought and prayers are with all of you at this very difficult time.

Dear Jimmy, Ray, George and family,
My condolences go out to you all on the loss of your mother. When I read the obituary in the Tribune this morning, it brought back many fond memories of when we were kids growing up on 72nd.
My prayers go out to you in your time of grieving.
