Paul Tobin Obituary

My sincere condolences on the passing of Paul. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to be present for the memorial. My prayers are with MaryLou and his family and loved ones. Paul will be missed and is loved by all in the Soccer world.

My sincere condolences on the passing of this memorable person. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to meet Paul but my prayers are with his family and loved ones. I'm sure he'll be remembered for all the good he provided to the referee family no matter where we are physically located.

I'm so sorry I missed the memorial. I met Paul Tobin when I became a member of the Gamelan Ensemble many years ago at Roosevelt Univ. I played for several years and enjoyed knowing Paul during that time. He was a dear person and I will always remember his interest in the stories I told and his ability to compose Gamelan music. I'm sure Gong Agong vibrated with a long, sure note at Paul's arrival in the land of the Gods! Now and then we all have "dampened" a gong or two too soon. But, nothing and nobody ever dampened Paul's spirit!

I knew Paul Tobin many years ago when we were both members of the staff of the Library of UIC (which was then known as UICC). We met seldom after he left the University, but I have always remembered and appreciated his intelligence, wide-ranging knowledge, humor and devotion to music. I was very sorry to hear that he had left us; he will be missed.
