Paul Stokes Obituary

I was so sorry to hear about Paul's passing. I just learned of it yesterday (December 13). My mom called his sister to get his address as she and my brother had tried to find his house in Kinston yesterday to visit. Mama has been mentioning for about 2 weeks now that she wanted to see Paul. I wish we had known about his passing so we could have payed our respects. I think his sister said it wasn't in the Greenville paper. Come to find out Paul's sister lives right around the corner from me - right next door to a good friend of mine. I have many happy memories of Paul, Paula and Catherine Ann cooking steaks or at the beach. I know he and dad are reunited in heaven now.

Dear Marie, Helen, Deborah, Jimi, Cathy, Paula, and Ann, Our sympathy and sincere condolences to you and your families as you grieve the loss of Paul. Weep no more. Celebrate Paul's life for the priceless gifts of love he shared with each of you and all who knew him. He found great joys in the mountains and at sea, and he treasured the time he spent fishing & golfing & sharing special times with the people he loved and met on his journey here. All were treasures in their own special way As you continue your own journeys, know that you can now take Paul with you any time you choose – with the precious memories of things and times shared. Paul was very special to us. We think your sendoff was a loving and touching tribute to a life well-lived. Our love and best to all of you as you march on knowing Paul is now free, exploring the stars, touching the waves, and painting the rainbows! Look for him when you catch or eat a fish, cast a net, tee off at Maggie Valley, or walk barefoot in the warm sands along the beach - and smile – because he will!
