My heartfelt sympathies to all the Sheridans. Gus was an old friend from ND and I have many memories of him. One was a trip in a major snowstorm to Indianapolis for a K of C basketball tournament. No public transport was running,so we rented a truck. We all had to sit on the floor of the truck except Gus who had the foresight to bring a comfortable chair for his room. Also he was the perfect host when we stayed at the lake on a couple of recent football weekends.

May he rest in peace.

TO: Maureen, Paul, Luke, John and families:

Heartfelt sympathy from all of the Barry family (Steve, Susan, Sean, Bridget, Caitlin, Stephen (or "Pablos Diablos" as his beloved "Judge Gus" would refer to him.

We were all fondly remembering Paul and I taking an 11 or 12 year old Pablos off of a plane at O'Hare for his first ND football weekend. And the glee with which Paul observed Pablos hunting down and cajoling autographs from ND players. And Paul making a huge production out of introducing him to the Redemak burger, still prized in his memory today.

John Adams said that to do good and be good was all we had to do; if that is the case, Paul has it made, for he will be remembered for the simple pleasures he loved, and for the great family he raised with Maureen.

May the names abound and proliferate - taped by Maureen to the kitchen center island in the home he loved on LakeShore Drive.

May he forever rest in peace; and may there be a nice par 3 course in heaven for our dear friend.

Dear Maureen and family, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. You and Paul visited me when you came to Ireland. Of course I always knew Paul as "Gussie. We grew up together and lived next door to each other and were best friends.I remember going on vacation every year with the Sheridan family and when Alice would pile us all in the car and take us for Icecream to Rainbow. We got into all kinds of scrapes and mostly got caught because of Paul's red hair. We once thought of making it a different color but didn't know how. I have so many happy memories of growing up together and I know you and y our family have many too. Again my deepest sympathy. Anne O'Gorman Canty

Dear Mrs. Sheridan, In the late 1960s and early 1970s I kept the lawn at your Long Beach home during the summers. I remember you and your family fondly and more often than you might think. While I was in high school in Michigan City your family and Mr. Sheridan represented what I aspired to be - a man with an important career that contributed to the community and who raised a lovely and loving family. Life took me very far from Michigan City; and did not lead me through Notre Dame and Chicago as I had planned. But, thanks in some measure to you and your family, I found my career of service and a lovely family. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I can't believe that such a larger than life person is gone. Paul had such a wonderful spirit and personality. I loved him so much and loved being in Long Beach with you guys as a little girl. He will be dearly missed.
