Paul Schreiber Obituary

Schreiber Jr., Paul 69, died peacefully at sunrise Sunday, September 26th, surrounded by his family in Charleston, S.C., after battling pancreatic cancer. Paul graduated from Lawrence University and University of Chicago Law School. He was admitted to practice in 1961 at Schreiber, Mack and Piper currently Schreiber, Mack and Postweiler where he had a successful practice in estate planning, real estate and corporate law with his father and brother and other partners. He was an avid sailor, vintage car collector, longtime rotary member and the Counsel for the Schreiber Foundation for Cancer Research (SFCR). He resided in the Chicago Area his entire life and recently moved to Seneca, S.C. He is survived by his wife, Sandra "Sandee" of 14 years, son of Ethelyn and the late Paul, brother of the late Thomas "Tom" who also died of pancreatic cancer. Father of Jeff (Jeff Brown) and Doug (Jenny) Schreiber, Lisa (Scott) Baar, Bill (Kim) Hoffman, Kelly (Steve) Richards and Tracy (Tim) Shook, grandfather of Daniel, Heidi and Joelle Schreiber, Matt and Ellie Baar, Ashlee and Michael Hoffman, Riley and Madison Richards and Cyle and Emily Shook. Memorial Visitation will be held at The Schmaedeke Funeral Home, 14205 Union Ave. (1 blk. North of 143rd SW Hwy.), Orland Park, IL, on Friday, October 1, 2004, from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Transferring to All Saints Episcopal Church, corner of Hoffman and Grand, Saugatuck, MI. For service at 10 a.m., Saturday. Inurnment at Douglas Cemetery, Douglas, MI. I am greatly saddened by Paul's passing. He was a mentor for me and served as my Best Man at my wedding. He meant a lot to me and I will miss him, but I will look forward to being with him in the future.
