Paul was a wonderful man...He was my mother's, Ruth Anne Schmidt, uncle...Even after my mother's passing, Paul made sure to keep in touch with my family. He was 'one of a kind'. My prayers go out to all of my 'extended' family in Chicago...

To the Family of Dr. Paul Schmidt,
My family knew Dr. Paul when he had his practice on 79th Street in Chicago.
He was always very professional and honest with his patients. My Mother will miss him very much!! God Bless all of you in your time of sadness.

To The Schmidt Family,
Dr Schmidt was my beloved Dr. for 45 years and the family joke was he never seemed to age. I just learned of his passing today and was deeply saddened. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I had recently seen Paul on the golf course but we never got to play together.

My sincere condolences to the whole family. I have always had a special regard for Paul, who helped me establish my practice and let me use his office to see patients. He was always generous and treated me as a friend.
Best wishes to the family.

To Dr. Schmidt's family, I was very sad to hear of your loss. I had worked for Dr. Schmidt when I was in optometry school and he was very generous to me. Audrey and Dr. Schmidt taught me a lot about patient care during the summer that I worked with the practice. I will keep Dr. Schmidt and the family in my prayers.

To the entire family of Dr. Paul, I am very sorry for your great loss. You don't forget someone like him once you meet him. He taught me how to really treat people, whether they were our patients or not, and boy could he joke around in the office to make the patients laugh. I cherish the time I worked in his Ophthalmology practice as a tech and have never forgotten his wonderful family. Know that he is so taken care of in heaven right now. Again, thank you Doctor Schmidt. I hope to meet you again someday.

Please accept my sympathy as a patient of both Dr. Schmidts for the loss of good Dr. Paul. The first time at his office I was most impressed with the sign on the wall using the Latin words "Spiritus Dei" for the name of his practice. He was a gifted doctor and a man of faith who was not afraid to openly and publicly declare that the Spirit of God guided him in his work. How wonderful to see that sign and to know him as a caring doctor. God has surely welcomed him home.

Being out of town we extend our sympathy to the Schmidt family, we were saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Paul Schmidt whom I've known and been associated with for over a 1/2 century starting with medical school and continued with CCH and our private practices at LCMH. He was an upstanding physician colleague and personal friend who we will miss. I'll miss seeing him during our workouts at Riviera CC. He'll now be with his eternal reward in heaven.

Dear Valerie and entire Schmidt family, Please accept my condolences in regard to the death of your father. I always had alot of respect for him and how he carried himself, in such a dignified, no nonsense, professional manner. He also provided excellent eye care to my Dad. I know your faith will sustain you during this difficult time of your lives. All the best and God Bless.

On behalf of my entire extended family, please accept our deepest condolences on your loss. I just lost my mother, Mary (also a patient of Dr. Paul) and I know what you are going through right now. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Schmidt's family. I was a patient of Dr. Paul's for 40 years. My first visit was when I was 3 months old. Dr. Paul was always a kind and compassionate doctor. I will always remember him. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends

Fran and I offer our condolences to the family of Dr. Paul Schmidt, who was always a very good neighbor to us and others in our area.
I first met Paul when he was hailing me across our back fence and telling me that he had been attacked by poison ivy. He and I took the problem seriously and began our several year effort to rid our area of the wicked weed in our yards. After meeting Paul, I spent two full days killing one poison ivy plant that had climbed all the way from the bottom to the top of a 40 foot tall cottonwood tree in our back yard.
He and I had a good laugh about that one.
One of these days Paul will look down from above with a smile and remember the war we waged against the wicked weed.
I'm sure that Paul's classmates from St. Ignatius will remember Paul as I did, a friendly and helpful person with a great family.
God bless Paul for what he did for others.
