Paul Roman Obituary

Roman, Paul G. age 69, of Chicago, passed away on Saturday on December 17, 2005. Paul was a graduate of Senn High School in Chicago, Class of 1955 and a veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserved, having serve eight years. He was a member of Temple Israel in Portage where he served as Vice President. He was Gabbai of the Temple and Cantorial Soloist. Paul was a long time religious school teacher at Temple Israel and he will be deeply missed by all of his students. He was a co-owner of the family business, Rosemoor Glass and Mirror Company on the southside of Chicago for 26 years. Paul was preceded in death by his son, Mark Roman, one sister, Janice Ruth Jestic and his parents, Milton and Mary Roman. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Geraldine (nee Levitan) Roman of Chicago, four children, Lori (Dan) Franklin of Fox Lake, Dean (Wendy) Roman of Munster, IN., Michele (Phillip) Abramson of Chicago, Michael Roman of Richmond, VA, five grandchildren, Steve Franklin, Joshua Roman, Aimee Roman, Zachary Roman and Mitchell Roman, three sister, Judy Roman of Tucson, AZ, Carol Roman of Lakewood, CO., Michelle Roman of Tumwater, WA, brother-in-law, Pete Jestic of Northbrook, IL, many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, 2 p.m. at Temple Israel, 601 N. Montgomery St., Gary, IN. Rabbi Stanley Halpern, officiating. Interment will be at Temple Israel Cemetery in Portage, IN. Friends may visit with the family at Temple Israel on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. (time of service). In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciated contributions to the Temple Israel Shoshana Fund, the Temple Israel Turner Fund or the Temple Israel Continuity Fund. Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point in charge of arrangements.

I have known Paul for many years.

The company I work for Oldcastle Glass supplied glass for his business. I have many fond memories of Paul and having lunch at their shop with his son Dean. I will miss him as he was a good friend.
