Paul and I were almost exactly the same age (I'm 10 days older) so, of course, he is in my earliest memories. I remember when he took medication at about age 6 and called it his "motor oil". I remember digging in the dirt outside Grandma Mabel's house with him. I remember going to the Evansville zoo with him and standing inside the mouth of the whale statue. And I remember Paul's kindness, his love of people and his love of his family. Lila, Zach, Abby, Carol and everyone else who loved Paul and who was touched by his life, I am so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear about Paul's death. I've known him my whole life and I can't believe he's gone. He gave me my first tractor ride when I was a little girl. He always loved to tease his "city" cousin from Indianapolis. My heart goes out to Lila, Zac, Abby, and Carol. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

I am a messigner for my and dad that just loved Paul. He was like a another son to my dad and mom. He was always there when my dad called. He said one time:
"Am I gonna to take care of you old folks for the rest of my life!" Floyd and Paul was always joking ...Paul was a man that was respected in our family. He knew what friendship was. Our whole family loved Paul and he will never be forgotten. My mom and dad have lost their best friend. Please know that the Gillies, Hamm's,Underdown's, Blocks remember Paul. God give Lila strength in this time. We, as a famiy hurt with knowing what a wonderful person has left us....

So sorry to hear about Paul. Hopefully your memories and the memories shared by his friends will help you through the days ahead. Paul was a very close friend during our early childhood days filled with innocent (Tom Sawyer-like) adventure through the back yards of the neighborhood. Delightful memories.

No words can really say how much Paul will be missed. I had never taken time to have a friend like him until after I had known him for a while. I will miss our almost daily phone calls or our trips to lunch or our “necessary trips” to Rural King or Harbor Freight for something "very important”. I will always cherish these last few years of friendship and our vacations together. Lila, you will always be a part of the family to Joyce and myself.

I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Paul's passing. We worked together for many years both in Evansville and here in Jacksonville. Paul could always be counted on for anything that was asked of him. I remeber we used to joke about how many years we both had until retirement. I am so glad that he got to enjoy his. I reitred in November of 2006.

What a shock to learn of Paul's passing. How do you define a friend you never met face to face? Paul was such a person. Always ready to help and apologetic when he could not assist is some way. We at RWT will miss him. Our love and prayers to family and friends alike.

I am so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. We worked together in safety on the railroad for years and he was well thought of for his work throughout the property. Paul could always be counted on to develop training, arrange meetings, make presentations or safety inspections or anything else he was asked to do to assist in the safety effort. He was a good friend, always helpful, easy going and will be missed by many. Our hearts and prayers go out to those family members and close friends he left behind. May he rest in peace.

Paul was such a wonderful blessing to my sister, Lila. He always treated our family has his own. Our Dad thought of him as the son he never had. Being a good step-father and grandfather came naturally to him, because he treated everyone with compassion. His friends were loyal, because Paul was your friend for life. I have lost a special brother-in-law, and am sorry I didn't get to say good-bye.

I remember Paul as a very friendly person and always upbeat. As a member of the class of '67, it saddens me when a member of our class passes away. Paul will always be remembered, and my prayers go out to Lila and the family. Paul will be missed by all that knew him. God Bless
