Back in 1973, just out of high school, my friends and I were working on a ranch in CA one summer. Every day at lunch time we would sit on the back of an old jeep pickup truck with our brown bag lunches and listen to Paul like kids being told a bed time story! We loved him dearly! There will never be another like him! Young people these days missed out on a great American icon!! We and miss you Paul Harvey!!

I was a fan of Paul Harvey from the first time I ever heard his mid-day program on radio in 1968. Over the years I always tried to catch his program, often stealing away while at work to listen and following it as it changed stations. Paul made me grateful to be an American. What an impact this fine, decent man made on so many people. There will never be another like him but I hope his son carries on his good work. May God bless your soul Mr. Harvey.

I grew up with Mr. Harvey's broadcasts and heard them most of my 50+ years. I once penned a short letter of appreciation to Mr. Harvey. Most personalities would have had someone return a form letter. Mr. Harvey responded personally in a short letter signed by both himself and his wife. As I believe he used to say of others.....He was a gentle man and a gentleman. How I miss that voice.....

Dear friend,
I miss you. I've never met you, but you so greatly impacted my life, and you didn't even know it. If the "Rest of the Story" collection were to be marketed and sold, it would be a 'must have' for every family. I will miss you for as long as I live on this Earth, and can only pray that one glorious day, we will finally meet so I can hug you.

I grew up on a farm and Mr. Harvey’s word was law and we never missed a program or Rest of the Story. After high school I enlisted in the Army where I spent the next 23 years. One of the first things we always did was find what radio station Paul would be on. Even overseas on Armed Forces Network listening to Paul was always like taking a trip home, this included during Desert Storm. I greatly miss listening to Mr. Harvey and hope he is in the company of his Angel.

For Paul...
Know that your words will
last far into the years
before us.
Paul this is for you:
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

To The Harvey Family: I am so sorry he is no longer here with us, but do know that he is still here with us in spirit. I pray that you all will be comforted by these words:
Try to remember that a GOOD man never dies; You will see him many times.
You will feel him in all things that are here out of love, and for love.
The person of a man may leave or be taken away, but the best part of a GOOD man stays. It stays FOREVER!

It's January 2010 and our United States has a lot of troubles. I often wonder what Paul Harvey would have to say about all that is going on. I miss his words of wisdom and encouragement, truth and his wit. He touched so many people. We all trusted him. If anyone could speak on behalf of we Americans, it would have been Paul Harvey. I'd love to know what Mr. Harvey would say to our political leaders if he were here now. He'd tell them "the rest of the story". He'd know all the right words to say. Like everyone, I miss Mr. Harvey.

It has been a while since Paul left this world to be with his precious Angel and reap his well disserved reward but I still listen to the radio at 7:30 AM longing for that familiar "Good Morning Americas - Stand by for news". There will never be another Paul Harvey - I just wish someone was there to fill the void of eternal optimism and hope for tomorrow. I will miss Paul until I see him again.

Dear Paul Harvey;
I started listening to you during the noonhour back in '69 when my boyfriend and I would go to the Drive-in for a hamburger and turn on the radio and listen to you white we ate...
I am sad that you are gone, as I was one of your faithful followers.
THANK-YOU for your Christian testimony that made some of us even braver to stand up and sometimes, alone -
Now, precious man, YOU know the rest of the story...!
See you over there -

I did not discover paul harvey via radio like so many others, but through one of his "Rest of the Story" books since i am an avid reader and found one laying around one day...after reading it and learning about his radio personality status I started making a habit of listening to his program(s)...I always enjoyed the "Story" bits and may not have always agreed with his commentaries on other subjects, I always welcomed his honesty and integrity in giving them and how he did so in a very humane and educated way instead of the constant ranting and lambasting going on now. If you agreed with him or not and spoke to him he did not insult you or your beliefs, but ould debate the issue politely with you...and always showed respect for the other side...his passing was a true loss for his family, friends, fans, radio, and journalism in general. We'll not see another with his dedication, honesty, and integrity for a very long time and for this I mourn the passing of such a great person.

Paul Harvey and Angel were our last real links to the Golden Age of Radio. He read the news, shared his opinions with us, and kept us spellbound guessing "the rest of the story". In good times and in bad times, the reassuring voice of Mr. Harvey and his boundless American optimism were there. He often referred to his newscasts as "visits" and indeed each time he read the news it was as if a neighbor had stopped by to discuss the latest happenings and to share his views. His listeners were loyal to him and he returned their loyalty when, an at an age when it would have been easy to retire, he signed a ten year contract to continue broadcasting. I listened to him for almost 35 years and will truly miss him.

Ours was a multi-generational farming family in Yakima, WA, who all listened to Paul Harvey News and Comment. I must've starting hearing Paul Harvey when I was only a few days old - straight home from the hospital in 1959. As kids we listened too, and learned about our world through Paul's words. Like many others who have written, after I moved to other places, I would sit in my car during lunch if that was the only way to listen to his noon report. It was comforting to listen to Paul after my father and grandparents passed and have those good memories of listening to Paul Harvey around the table. It was like having a tie to them. It's the end of an era.

Dear Family of Paul Havey, What a legacy Paul Harvey left behind. No matter how popular he was, he still had an appreciation for the little man. I have in the genealogy dept. of the Attala Co. Library, a program from whenever Paul visited Kosciusko, MS in 1961. He also honored a very humble man named Pete Murphy. I listened to Paul Harvey everyday on my way to work, and I will miss him terribly! Ann Breedlove, Kosciusko, MS

I remember hearing Paul Harvey when I was a child in the 1950's. I was amazed and delighted when I found him again as an adult and parent in the 1970's! That's when I began to set the tuner on my car radio for the stations that carried his broadcasts. I looked forward to catching The Rest of the Story during my commutes and always tried to listen to the Saturday broadcasts. I miss him! My prayers are with your family and your broadcast family as you go on with out him and your mother; I know you miss them both greatly.
I look forward to hearing the Heavenly versions of his broadcasts someday!

I grew up in the Sandhills of Nebraska in the early 70's. We only had one TV channel on a good day so we listened to the radio a lot. My dad was a rancher and always took time at noon to listen to Paul Harvey. Dad would also listen to The Rest of The Story and the morning broadcast as well. Somedays this may be the only news from around the world we would hear or listen to. I too looked forward to hearing Paul. During the last few years I listened to Mr Harvey via the internet. For years I listened to you
Took pleasure in your voice,
You were one of the few
Who told it as it was.

But one thing I know is clear
The heavens rejoice in knowing
That the rest of the your story is there.
Blessed be

What else is there to say about Mr. Paul Harvey, that can be said, or hasn't been said. He enlightened all our lives, six days a week. He took our minds off our every day problems, if only for a few minutes a day. He gave us good, funny, and useful news that was believable.
His honesty, and integrity concerning the products he advertised was creditable. Mr. Harvey, I've been one of your best fans since 1964. You will always be remembered, and missed by all the good folks you touched. May God bless, and rest your soul. Until the next time,"Good Day".
