Paul, you moved from Mony Mony to the channel beach of Bull's Island seeking greater peace during your weekends away from it all on the river, now you've moved to the place of ultimate peace and I can't follow you are missed dude

Happy Birthday Paul!! I'm thinking of you and missing you very much today. Remember last year's snow storm and how difficult it was to get your flower birthday cake delivered to you on time? What an ordeal! I'm sure you're having the greatest birthday party ever up there (and that you're the life of the party with all your funny jokes). Say hello to your mother for me--I know you're happy to be with her again!! Love you always.

I and so many were lucky to have had time to share with you Paul. You loaned a piece of yourself to me and I'm better for it, and passed before I could give it back. I will miss you and remember you always - and when pass along a bit of what you gave to me every day.

To all those who knew and loved Paul, We are lucky aren't we? Paul had a lot of life to share and he seemed to do it every day. I am glad for his inspiration and will carry that with me for my life. I suggest we all keep his twinkle glowing by trying to some anonymous good each day. Corny but powerful. Mary Ivory

Dearest Dr.(Paul) Carriere:
Your passing came as such a shock to
me, as I know it did to others. You had such a warm smile and eyes that sparkled. I can't tell you how much you supported me, helped me throughout the many years. We laughed, you always wanted me to bring you a joke so I could laugh more. If I didn't have a joke available, you sure did. I will miss you very much; you were a huge part of my life and a help in every way to me. I will certainly miss you but I'll keep the jokes coming. Peace to you, Paul, and thank you for everything you did for me. You will always be a part of my life and I will always remember our special relationship.

Paul,
You my friend will be missed dearly by myself and family. You always had time to chat with us and laugh with us. I will never forget the day you started your bubble machine on your boat and you told us that was your answer to "World Peace". My son Tim told me that he will never forget how you could start a fire with wet wood and how you always had a kind word for him. Laura my daughter said, that she will never forget the kind words and hugs. Rich said,he will never forget everything about you. I have many things I will never forget...especially the one night at the beach we all were sitting around the campfire. You looked into the sky and put your hand out palm side up and said,"its looks, its feels like a mudslide night". The river will never be the same without you, your words of widsom, and your smiling face. Be at peace my friend you will always be in my heart!! ~~Melanie~~

Dear Dr. Carriere -
I cannot believe you are gone. You gave Jim and I so much. Because of you I am still alive. You wouldn't let me give up-your phone calls in the morning to make sure I was ok showed me that you really did care. You showed Jim and I how to love and care for each other when I thought there was no hope. You are truly my hero. I will continue to speak to you and I know you will be listening. And yes, like you tried so hard for so long - Jim is crying.
We will keep you forever in our hearts.

My Dear, Sweet, Wonderful Paul. What will we ever do without you? Your gentile loving ways, your strength of character, and your passion to help others have made the world a better place. Your marvelous sense of humor, the sparkle in your eyes, your heart-warming smile, and your youthful fun-loving way of finding the joy in life will always be remembered by those of us who loved you so-and who now will miss you so. But you have not really left us for you will live on in the hearts and the minds of those whose lives you touched so beautifully and so graciously. And the gifts of your wisdom, and your courage, and your integrity, and your love will be passed on to others by those of us who were fortunate enough to have known you. You have truly been an inspiration and a role model and a testament to the very best that humanity has to offer. I will miss you, Paul, with all my heart--you were such a joy in my life. But I will also remember what you told me so often, and I will take you with me so that you will live on in my heart forever. Thank you for loving me and for believing in me--I will make you proud.

Paul may you rest in peace my friend. You will be greatly missed out on the river not only by me but also by my children, especially my son. They always looked for you and sammy. I will always remember the last time you came to our campsite, talked about the stars and how beautiful they were night. You said to take the time to enjoy life and to always be happy. I am thankful for getting to me you and to have you as my friend.
