I first met Pat (and his lovely wife Rose) when I was just a teen, moving to the Southside with my family. My Grandparents were his next door neighbors for nearly 30 yrs. He ALWAYS went above and beyond being neighborly, sharing vegetables from his garden, keeping an eye on the neighborhood and always asking us how we were doing. On Halloween he & his wife would always have a special treat bag for my son with candy & money; after Rose passed he kept with that tradition every year - such an incredibly sweet gesture. He will surely be missed. My deepest condolences to all of his family, may you find peace during this difficult time... God Bless.

I worked at a video store before becoming the police and Pat Rooney used to come in quite often. What a nice man- forward years later and I meet Pat Rooney working in Area One. First thing I asked him was are you related to The Pat Rooney- he laughed and said it was his dad! That Pat Rooney is now my neighbor and the first time I saw his dad I was honored that he remembered me. God Speed Pat Rooney Sr-it was a pleasure meeting you so long ago; a nice man then and now. We are so sorry for all you had to go through Pat and Rhonda-watching the man you loved and admired your entire life slip away was not easy; no doubt once again you made him so very proud to be your dad.
God Bless the Rooneys always!
