Pat was a fine friend, a warm counsel and a deeply compassionate man. I always enjoyed our time together, and in his later years would often call him just to say hello.

My condolences to Pat, Jr. Betty and their entire family.

Pat was a dear friend who sponsored me into Chicago Rotary and I learned that Rotary's motto "Service Above Self" was Pat's motto in life.

Pat was a true friend and benefactor of United Cerebral Palsy Association of Chicago. It was a pleasure for me to serve with him on UCP's Board of Directors for so many years. His friendliness, humor and compassion for those less fortunate will be missed by all those who knew him.

Such an upstanding gentleman. His warmth and charisma were visible in all his dealings. His advice was alwaysw excellent. St.Joseph Hospital benefitted greatly from his presence. God blessed us with Pat.

May I extend my deepest sympathy...I, too, share the loss of Pat, "Mr. Chicago", who sponsored me more than a decade ago at The Irish Fellowship of Chicago, and gave me the best advice I could have as a restraurateur: 'always serve 'em little sausages wrapped in puff pastry and remember, Dave, you're in the hospitality business!' There has always been a bottle of Old Grand Dad on my shelf for the times Pat would be a guest here. I will personally miss his mentoring and friendship. He set a high example and I'm proud to have known him. His favorite song was "Gallway Bay" and I will cherish his memory the rest of my life! With his beloved Helen, my he rest in peace knowing that he gave so much to so many, the least of them was me.

We have never, in our lifetimes, met a warmer, friendlier, considerate, and the adjectives run out, than Helen and Pat O'Malley.

Their good will and good feelings were contagious..welcomed..there's an old saying that," The only thing you really leave behind is a good name". Pat and Helen exempified this situation.

We'll all miss you, O'Malley's.

My deepest condolences to the O'Malley Family - your sense loss is one that is shared by all those whose life was touched by Pat. As a "Canteener" I always knew that while he was at the helm, the ship was one the right course. He did so many kindnesses for me during a personal health struggle that I still often marvel 25 years later that such a busy man took time out to be sure that others were cared for. May he rest in peace with his beloved Helen.

I extend my deepest sympathy to the family of Patrick L. O'Malley Sr. When I was a social life reporter for Chicago's American, Chicago Today and the Chicago Tribune, I would visit with Mr. and Mrs. O'Malley at social events. I'm glad I had the opportunity to know them and to spend time with them. They were wonderful people. To lose both parents in the same year is difficult, but Patrick, I know their spirits will remain with you.

Your dad and grandpa was one of the nicest men. Anyone who knew him would agree. He was an inspiration to many many people of various generations. I am grateful for his friendship after being his secretary for four years and as a member of the Canteen Family. I will miss him and pray for you and your family. LJG
