Patricia Warner Obituary

PATRICIA H. WARNER, born May 4th, 1933, died in Norwalk Hospital Saturday July 2nd 2011 after a very brief illness. She was 78 years-old. She was a resident of Norwalk for over 50 years and a winter resident of Bonita Springs, Fla. Patricia attended Darien High School where she met her future husband Bill on the first day of school resulting in a 63 year partnership. They were voted the cutest couple when she graduated in 1951, and put up with his jokes for all those years. She graduated from Mary Mount College and went on to Saint Lawrence University where she earned a Masters degree in History. She continued her education later in life earning a Masters degree in Communications at Fairfield University. She worked as a history teacher at the Ponus Ridge Middle School, as well as the communications director for the Girl Scouts in Southwestern CT. A long time member of the Sprite Island Yacht Club, she was also a family member of the Silvermine Golf Club. She was president of her condo association in Florida for many years. More than 50 years ago she was part of the founding families that started STAR, the Society To Advance the Retarded, in Norwalk, CT. Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, William A Warner, and three daughters, Susan Warner-Lambert and her husband, Mark Lambert of North Branford, Cathy Doran and her husband, Kenny of Darien, and Patricia Heenan of Waterford. She had three grandchildren, Amber Heenan, Casey Lambert and William Heenan. She was predeceased by her daughter Nancy and her son William Jr. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Tuesday July 12th at 5 pm at the Congregational Church at 23 Park Street, New Canaan, CT.
