My feelings about Pat's passing have so many layers I don't know where to begin to describe them. Pat was my second mother every summer where we, the Caponera's, exchanged our Lowe Avenue address for a little blue shack of a cabin on Hickory Lane in Twin Lakes, WI. Pat and Lee owned this place of my fondest memories, but our families were so close we thought it was ours as well. My mom and Pat were joined at the hip. Their husbands were wild men, and I was always so happy they had each other to commiserate, support each other, and above all - laugh together, which they did more than any two friends I've ever known. They were great at scheming to find their freedom and pulling hilarious capers when they had it! Pat and my mom taught me how valuable a best friend is to one's quality of life. They taught me about the value of creating an extended family of my choosing to enhance my joy and temper the sadness throughout life. Pat and Lee raised their kids to become the most caring and capable people and my heart goes out to them as they navigate the loss of their esteemed and beloved mother. Please know I am praying for you throughout this difficult time to find comfort in family and friends who love and support you. Love, Betty
