I have just found out that my friend Pat has passed away. I have fond memories of her. I worked at Macneal Hospital in the Watermark Physician Department. She always had a smile on her face. And a good way of cheering you up when things were going bad. I know she is looking over me and when I am having a bad day, I will think of her smile and know it really isn't that bad after all. She was a very kind and giving person. She gave a a nick name of "Angel" but now she is my "Angel" looking over me. I had so many good times with her--even when she broke her foot and was in the cast--she made good of it. Her personality was one of a kind. She loved her family very much. She was so proud of her boys.

Our family would like to thank all those who got our family through this difficult time when Pat passed away. We would not have gotten through it with out the support from all those who attended the wake/funeral, sent mass cards, sent flowers, sent donations to Pat's favorite charities, called us at home to check and see how things were going for the three of us. With Pat's passing there is a huge void in our lives, but we know that Pat is now watching all of us from above and will be there for us.

I met Pat about 12 years ago when I joined the MacNeal network and we worked in the same building. I found her to be friendly and very funny. Later we worked in the same office and I got to know her even better. She talked about her husband who looked like Jack Nicholson, her Golden Retriever, Sandi and oh, how she loved to brag about her two sons! I think we bonded over our love of family and chocolate.
Years passed and Pat switched jobs. I probably only saw her about three times a year after that. We used to go out to dinner with another friend, Audrey and celebrate our birthdays. Those were fun times!
Audrey and I didn't learn about Pat's illness until sometime this past spring. By then it was too hard for Pat to go out so Bob graciously invited us to come to their home and visit. He always made us feel welcome and was grateful whenever we could come. It was sad seeing our friend change with this disease but she never complained! We always found her sitting in the kitchen with her beloved dog, Kayla at her side. It was always evident how much love her husband and sons had for her and how well she was taken care of.
I'll bet Pat is still bragging about her boys (all three of them!) I wonder if there is an endless supply of M&M's up there -- now THAT would be heaven!
Rest in peace, dear friend, I will miss you. Love, Sandy

I have known Pat for quite a few years and I can only say that there is no better women than her. Strong, funny and always full of life. She loved her husband and sons very much. Also her pets. I have a lot of fond memories of working with Pat. I can say that she has touched my life in so many different ways. I am a better person for having known her. You will be greatly missed Pat. I love you my gambling, m&m, slimfast, and JC Penny buddy. Rosie
